Youth Basketball Clinic Presented by Rochester Recreation Department in partnership with Lorne Lucas & the Spaulding Boys Basketball Program

When: Saturday, November 1, 2025

Where: James W. Foley Memorial Community Center, 150 Wakefield St, Rochester, NH

Who: Grades 7 & 8

Cost: Free for Rochester residents; $10 for non-residents

Details: Station-based skill development led by Lorne Lucas and Spaulding Freshman, JV & Varsity players (volunteers). Ice Cream Social between sessions.

Arrival: Please arrive 30 minutes before your assigned session to sign in.

What to bring: Comfortable athletic clothes (t-shirt, shorts/sweats), non-marking sneakers, and a refillable water bottle labeled with the player’s name. Times will vary by grade and skill level.

Schedule:
Session D: 3:00–4:30 | Grades: 7th & 8th (Ice Cream Social at 2 pm with Session C)

General information:
Registration for the Youth Basketball program will open November 1st at 7am. The office will be open for registrations during the clinic.

Clinic highlights
• Four sessions by grade/skill: 2nd/3rd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th (max 40 players per session)
o Session A: 8:00–9:15 | Grades: 2nd & 3rd (Ice Cream Social: 9:15–10:00)
o Session B: 10:00–11:30 | Grades: 3rd & 4th (Ice Cream Social: 11:30–12:15)
o Session C: 12:30–2:00 | Grades: 5th & 6th (Ice Cream Social for Sessions C & D: 2:00–2:45)
o Session D: 3:00–4:30 | Grades: 7th & 8th (Ice Cream Social at 2 pm with Session C)

• Station-based skill work led by Lorne Lucas and Spaulding players (Freshman, JV, Varsity) — all done by volunteers

• Ice Cream Social between sessions to meet coaches, players and boosters (session C & D combined for Ice Cream Social)

• 3rd graders will be placed by experience level to keep groups balanced and appropriately challenging
